Microsoft Dynamics GP is available in three licensing models:

Business Ready Licensing has the highest per user price, however it bundles many modules of functionality with each user. These modules can be activated or deactivated within the system as needed. Additional modules are available a la carte for an additional investment. There are two editions of Business Ready Licensing: Business Essentials (BE) and Advanced Management (AM).

With Module Based Licensing model, while the price per user is less than the Business Ready Licensing, each module of functionality is purchased a la carte as needed. This model is no longer available to new customers! Only existing customers may continue to expand their system with this model. For a fee, existing customers may also choose to transition to the new licensing. There are two editions with this model: Standard and Professional.

With a Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA), customers may choose to pay a smaller fee on a per user per month basis. With this scenerio, the Dynamics GP software is hosted on the equipment of another company. This approach can be especially appealing to companies that have large seasonal fluctuations in users, that do not have a strong internal IT staff, or that want to ramp up quickly for a lower up-front software commitment. Module functionality is identical to the Business Ready Licensing, including the two editions: Business Essentials (BE) and Advanced Management (AM).
